We offer experienced counsel in a broad range of legal matters, including:
- Elder law. We protect the rights and interests of seniors and their families though Asset Protection and Asset Preservation, long-term care planning, financial planning assistance and estate planning.
- Medicaid Asset Protection and Preservation Planning. With careful and proper planning we assist individuals and couples qualify for government benefits, while making sure a surviving spouse is well cared for, without the need of selling their house, and still leave an inheritance for their children.
- Veteran's Benefits. There are little-known TAX FREE benefits available to any Veteran, 65 or older (and younger in certain circumstances) which help pay for medical expenses, in-home care, and the cost of long-term care.
- Special Needs Trusts Asset Protection and Preservation. A special needs trust allows individuals with disabilities, including seniors, to receive government benefits to which they are entitled (such as Medicaid) and still have assets protected from the government which will supplement the government benefits.
- Estate Planning & Administration. We work closely with individuals and couples who wish to put in place plans for the efficient distribution and protection of assets, and the physical and financial care of minor children, upon their death. This can best be accomplished through a Last Will and Testament, Revocable (changeable) Living Trust, or an Irrevocable (permanent) Living Trust, depends on your particular set of circumstances.
- Financial Durable Powers of Attorney, Durable Healthcare Powers of Attorney, and HIPAA Releases and Authorizations. Anyone over the age of 18 needs these documents in the event they are unable to take care of their own affairs (such as paying bills) or unable to make decisions regarding their own health care (such as in the event of a serious car accident, stroke, or debilitating illness). If you do not have a financial power of attorney that a knowledgeable Elder Law attorney prepared within the last year, you almost certainly do not have any Medicaid Asset Protection powers in that document that will be crucial to be able to protect your assets in the event you becoming unable to speak for yourself or in case you become mentally incapacitated.
- Trust and Probate Administration. We provide the guidance, experience, and expertise needed to effectively, efficiently, and economically administer and close a Trust or Probate Estate.
